I bought the Acuter Spotting Scope as an in between scope to use for both wildlife astronomy before spending £ 000s on a dedicated astronomy scope. Unfortunately since taking delivery there hasn t been much opportunity for the astronomy bit - maybe tonight?? But if the scope performs as well for the astronomy bit there is no reason why it shouldn t then I m in for a real treat. Two examples so far of its capabilities - 1 I couldn t quite identify the flies buzzing around the top of a tree that is the best part of 1/2 mile away 2 I spent many intriguing minutes watching a field mouse about 25m away that had no idea it was being spied upon - counting the no. of its whiskers was no problem.
