The binoculars were smaller in size than I had anticipated having recently purchased a Bresser 8x56 pair. That is however no objection simply an observation. The glasses appear to be of a decent quality and construction. However, I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the carrying strap which is very cheaply made. Similarly the rubber lens eyepiece came with a split on one side where there is a eyepiece for looping a cord to attach to the body of the binoculars. Similarly the attachment of the objective lens cover is by a rubber connection so that the cover can easily be uncovered without the necessity of removing the covers entirely from the binoculars is a good idea but I fear for it's quality. I think the attachment will very soon break. The instruction manual is cheaply printed and overall gives a bad impression.
Why have decent quality binoculars and finish it off with cheap and nasty accoutrements? It seems Barr & Stroud are spoiling the ship for a hapworth of tar.
