Very nice smooth action, neat design. One problem, my camera D300 + 80/400 lens will not balance. When left it will tip either forwards or backwards which of course is a danger particularly to the lens. OK when I finish I tighten the locking.
Photographing birds the split second having to unlock it has lost me one or two shots. Also there is a slight delay getting the precise smooth movement ie a little friction is required but not too much. The answer is to modify the plate which marries the camera/lens to the head. It should be a little longer and designed to have a central position. This would increase the price of the head only a little and be a considerable improvement. If you ever make a modified one please let me know.
