Velbon GEO Series Carbon Fibre Professional Tripods

Velbon GEO E643D Carbon Fibre Tripod With QHD-63D Ball Head

The carbon fiber leg tubes of the Geo series tripods have been strengthen by the addition of a small quantity of basalt, offering greater resistance and rigidity for bending and crushing forces. The reason for the use of carbon is its quick absorption of vibration. Carbon is not only light in weight, it is ideal for stopping the vibration caused by the release of the shutter and restraining the movement of the camera for the next shot. Tripod components and furniture are constructed of magnesium alloy, a material that is light weight and easy to process, making geo series tripod both solid and stylish.

Next Generation Carbon Fiber and Basalt Formula For Ultimate Strength

Two type of leg locking are available, either by nut or lever. This is indicated by N or E in the product name. The advantage of nut locking is the leeway provided to adjust the degree of locking force. The strong point of lever locking is quick extension of the legs and quick locking, allowing a rapid shift to shooting. Birdwatchers choose lever locking tripods for speed of setup - to get a good look before the bird flies off.

A scale is etched into each leg section. This is very useful when it is necessary to extend the legs by the same amount or shoot from the same height in fixed point observation.

Since the legs are light in weight, Velbon became the world's first tripod manufacturer to include a weight bag as a standard accessory in consideration of the times when the user mounts a heavy camera outdoors or places a load on the tripod and stability and balance are required. Just one of the many touches that show how Velbon is always thinking  of convince of users.

In addition, Geo series tripods are equipped with an end hook at the end of the centre column from which the camera bag or a weight bag can be hung, lowering the centre of gravity and providing greater stability.

At the end of the legs the Geo series tripods offers two way feet, a built-in choice of either rubber or spiked feet. Rubber feet are ideal where the surface is smooth, such as in the studio, while spiked feet are meant for fixing the tripod when shooting scenes in the our doors, such as sandy soil or ice.

Geo series tripods also features a detachable 2-section centre column, one of the distinctive marks of Velbon tripods. When the lower section is detached, the legs can be splayed, enabling ultra low angle photography. Not requiring changing the centre column is a distinguishing characteristic of Velbon design.

Foam padded leg grips allow painless carrying of the tripod on the shoulder and enable directly grasping the cold leg materials when shooting in cold weather.
