Canon
16-35mm F2.8 mark II
EF USM lens
Canon
16-35mm F/2.8L II Lens is a
high performance water resistant and ultra wide-angle
Canon
L-series lenses. The
Canon 16-35mm F/2.8L II Lens
has been precisely designed for improved edge-to-edge image quality that will
meet absolutely the requirements of professionals and high-end amateur
photographers. The Canon
16-35mm F/2.8L EF Lens
incorporates 3 high-precision aspherical lens elements having three different
type: ground, replica and GMo which effectively correct the lens aberrations,
that occur during zooming and for better image quality than the original
Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8L USM
lens. The circular aperture of Canon 16-35mm F2.8 Lens,
produces an excellent and natural background blur when shooting at wider
apertures. The Canon
16-35mm EF II Lens includes
internal focusing, a ring type USM (Ultra Sonic Motor), and new AF algorithms
for fast and quiet auto focusing.
Legendary
Canon’s L-series optics
combine with three aspherical and two UD glass elements to deliver impressively
high-quality images.
Capture more of the scene and do so with incredible colour and clarity with the
Canon’s L-series super-wide angle zoom lens.
The Super spectra lens coating effectively minimizes ghosting and flare for
crisp, clear results.
Get the shots you want with Canon
16-35mm - even in harsh
conditions - thanks to the dust- and moisture-proof construction of components
like the mount, zoom ring and focus ring.
The new EF
16-35mm f/2.8L II USM is
fully-compatible with all EOS SLRs and provides improved edge-to-edge sharpness
when used in conjunction with any full-frame EOS model.
The Canon
16-35mm II developed to
succeed the high-performance Canon 17-35mm f2.8L USM, the
Canon EF
16-35mm f2.8L II USM has the
leading wide-angle range in its class. Due to the rapidly production of digital
SLR Cameras that tend to have a smaller frame size when compared to the 35mm,
there is a demand for shorter focal length lenses. This has resulted in the
development of the
16-35mm f/2.8L EF USM lens.
Contrary to its longer zoom range, the
16-35mm f2.8L USM obtains a
higher image quality than any other lens in its class.
The Canon EF
16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens is
what people consider one of the most important lenses in Canon's lineup. Taking
over the ultra-wide angle position of the available professional grade f2.8 zoom
lenses from the Canon EF
16-35mm f/2.8 L USM Lens, the
16-35 L II becomes the new standard for professional and
serious amateur photographers.
The
16-35mm is a very high quality,
solidly-constructed lens worthy of its L Series designation and a very nice size
and weight for comfortable, sure handling - the build quality makes it a joy to
use.
Canon EF
16-35 L II Lens diaphragms
contain 7 blades compared to
16-35mm which has 6. The circular shape of the
16-35 L II's blades help create desirable round-shaped OOF (Out Of Focus)
highlights and an attractive background blur.
With a constant f/2.8 max-aperture lens, wide open exposures can remain the same
over the full focal length range
With an MFD (Minimum Focus Distance) of 0.92' (0.28m), the
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens has a
MM (Maximum Magnification) of .22x (at 35mm of course). This is a decent
middle-of-the-road magnification value.
To increase MM, add an Extension Tube. A
12mm extension tube increases MM to .62x and a
25mm extension tube delivers up to 1.11x (both
figures are at 35mm - extension tubes are not compatible at the wide end of the
focal length range on this lens).
This lens is not compatible with
Canon's 1.4x and
2.0x Extenders. The Canon EF 16-35mm
f/2.8 L II USM Lens reports distance information to the camera. This
information is especially helpful to flash exposure calculation. If you are
using in a full-frame body, you will want to use the pull-out, flip-down
diffuser on your Canon Speedlite for direct flash work at the wider focal
lengths.
Canon EF
16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens
comes with a very wide
Canon EW-88 lens hood
