Holder can holds up to 2 Canon
LP-E5
battery packs simultaneously to effectively
double your shooting power. Two LP-E5s yield twice the number of shots as one
before a charging is needed.
Also the grip includes a holder to use six AA size instead of Canon battery pack.
The grip includes a vertical shutter release and a mode wheel to provide access
to all of the camera functions and make shooting with the camera in a vertical
position just as comfortable as shooting horizontally.
The Canon BG-E5 Battery Grip installs into
Canon DSLR's battery compartment. The battery door of the camera is easily
removable and the Canon BG E5 plugs in. The grip attachment is completed by
screwing the Canon BG-E5 into the camera's tripod adaptor threads. The BG-E5 has
its own tripod adapter threads and you can use tripod, hence this functionality
is not lost. The battery grip offers shutter and control similar to camera's
shutter.
When "small size" is your top priority, simply remove the Canon BG-E5 grip and
put the battery door back on its place.

Great product, this makes you feel more confident that you're not going to drop the camera by giving you something to hold on to. The ergonomics of how it feels now is preferred to the previous feel of not having the product. Microglobe were the least expensive when I purchased it, and the customer service was good. It arrived reasonably quickly.
