ADVANCED FACE DETECTION
Canon G9's new Face Detection technology can detects, lock-on and track up to nine forward-looking human faces in a single scene. The Face Detection algorithm that based on Canon’s Intelligent Scene Analysis (iSAPS) technology: iSAPS is a complete original scene recognition technology developed by Canon for digital cameras. It uses an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the fast DIGIC III Image chip to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance. It automatically ranks and selects faces and not simply the closest object. The Canon G9 camera then optimize its focus, exposure meter and flash to ensure the best possible results. Using Face Detection technology, photographers can easily keep up to nine faces in focus at any time regardless of where they are within the image.
