Nikon 8x40 Action features all-metal chassis with a lens fitted in tough housed, lightweight polycarbonate body shell. Nikon 8x40 Action are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for waterproof, fog proof and shockproof performance in all environment. Nikon 8x40 Action is ergonomically shaped, tripod adaptable and rubber coated for a non-slip grip. Nikon 8x40 Action feature a unique click-stop eye cup design that delivers long eye relief which is friendly to the user's own eyes and eyeglasses. The 8x40 Binocular belongs to legendary Action Extreme series and the binocular price is affordable as compared to its performance. Nikon Action 8x40 are central focused with a dioptre control to correct for normal right / left eye vision imbalance and make it easy for the customer to use them. As compared to other Action series Nikon binoculars, the Nikon Action Extreme series are more popular because of nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed body which make them tough to use in extreme conditions. Action 8x40 Nikon binoculars are Porro prism and uses bright mulit-coated optics.

Although somewhat trickier to use with spectacles than expected given the quoted eye relief and the propensity of the lens caps to detach themselves from the carrying strap these are truly top quality binoculars. Not too large or heavy, I use them for motorsports, walking and astronomy. Perhaps the ideal all rounder.
