The older 42mm adapters are replaced by the this T-Adapter having a larger diameter thus providing a larger light way to the sensors of your camera. This Helps to maximise the light transmission while reducing vignettes around the sensors of your camera. This adapter is optimal for 1 4, 11 and 9.25 inch EdgeHD OTAS.
To work efficiently and correctly this T-Adapter should be used with 48mm camera T-ring. The relative illumination of 42mm sensor and 48mm is shown in the above pictures. The distance from the centre of the camera sensor is the X-axis and the amount of light received is drawn on the Y-axis. Its obvious that the 48mm is receiving more light than the42mm T-Adapter. There is no advantage to the image by using the 48mm T-Adapter rather the 42 mm T-Adapter and 42mm T-Rings should be used instead.
