The portable starter scope, AstroMaster 90AZ Refractor Telescope from Celestron is an entire new terrace for observing the Moon, Comet and the planets. The new manual Alt-Azimuth mount adjustable pan axis knobs and altitude locking allows the observer to track targets with much ease. Using its Alt-Azimuth locking pan-handle, it reduces the average vibrations many times. The entire assembly and break down of the AstroMaster 90AZ needs no tool, so the set up is much simple and fast. The 90AZ refractor comes with 2 eyepieces which have a medium and low magnification. To correct the images its 90-degree diagonal eyepiece has an integrated erecting prism which allows the scope to be used as a spotting scope as well.

The EQ refers to the "equatorial mount" which is something that you are going to need t if you want to use this telescope for looking at the Moon, Jupiter & other planets. The reason that these low-cost refractors are recommended as opposed to a reflector is that most people want their first beginner telescope to give them a more delightful view of the Planets like Saturn's rings, Moon, Jupiter and some of its Moon without having to drive far from the city. When the OTA is pointed at the zenith, the users head is positioned to be placed in a much more comfortable posture by the usage of its diagonal positioning. The optical tube and the mount is also firmly supported by the (adjustable height) stainless steel tripod. It also comes with a tripod tray to support your accessories and hold your tripod in place while reducing vibrations. The Al-Azmuth is typically used for large aperture and low-powered telescopes where the Earth's rotation does not matter.
