Celestron EclipSmart Solar Filter is designed from the telescope’s lens cap for a snug fit, each filter includes two safety Velcro straps and four self-adhesive Velcro pads for safely securing your solar filter in place. This filter is secure and firm when in use, doubly ensuring safety by making sure that the filter will stay attached when in use.

Features: Celestron EclipSmart Solar Filter for Celestron 8-Inch SCT and EdgeHD Telescopes

  • Designed specifically for Celestron 8” Schmidt-Cassegrain and EdgeHD Telescopes
  • The filter ring is modeled on the scope's original lens cap for a safe and snug fit
  • For enhanced safety, the filter comes with two touch-fastener strips and four tabs that adhere to the filter and retaining rings to make sure the filter doesn't accidentally come off
  • Made of a proprietary Mylar film
  • The filter is ISO 12312-2 compliant  for safe solar viewing, blocking 99.999% of intense light across the entire visible spectrum and 100% of harmful ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation; resulting in high-contrast views of the sun in a neutral color
  • At just 120 grams, the filter will provide the safety required to observe the sun and all phases of a solar eclipses without adding significant weight to the front of your OTA
