Celestron Lens Shade Dew Caps For C6 and C8 Tubes: The lens shade is designed for C6 and C8 telescopes. The lens shade/dew cap is designed for compatibility with 6” and 8” Celestron tubes that wrap around the front end of telescopes.
The lens shade/dew cap reduces the amount of dew that builds up on the corrector plate. It also serves as a lens shade by preventing stray light from falling on the corrector plate which greatly improves contrast. The shade is made from durable soft Foamex plastic material that resists the high temperature and can safely be stored
