The Celestron StarSense AutoAlign Telescope Alignment System uses a camera which piggy back on to your telescope to take images of the dark sky. It automatically search its database in order to identify the stars in the images. After identification, it matches the image to its database of 40,000+ celestial objects. Once the match is conformed, it calculates the coordinates of the centre of the captured image by determining exactly where the telescope is pointed. Celestron StarSense AutoAlign comes with a field of view of 6.88° x 5.16°
InstalmentRemove the finderscope bracket and also the bracket base from telescope. The StarSense comes with pre-assembled large bracket and bracket base. Now install the larger one bracket base onto your telescope then fix the StarSence on the base and tight the thmb-screws. In this way the StarSene is installed onto your telescope.
Important NoteOnce the StarSene start its alignment process, do not move or touch the telescope and also avoid the falling of light into the camera lens because it will interrupt the alignment process.

I was sceptical of how well it would worl in the suburbs of kent and was suprised how many stars it could pick up in the light pollution. This unit picked up and aligned it self without issues. I am looking forward to clear nights as it has been cloudy. I must also say that it helkps keep venus and the moon staionary in the viewing finder. I have the standard GPS on the standard mount.
