I like many people thought that a telescope was a must for astronomy until I bought some binoculars. These opened up the sky for me in a way the telescope never did which then spent most of it s time packed away. I then searched for some really good binoculars to make my experience even better. After doing a lot of research these Apollos seemed to be the best for me.
I thought about the purchase for a long time until Christmas and my birthday came along. Even then this would be a significant purchase for me. The thing that held me back for so long was having to rely on other people s reviews rather than getting the chance to try them before I bought them. Eventually I trusted the known knowledgeable people who recommended them and I m glad I did.
I ve only had 2 nights viewing but these binoculars are very good. I m only a beginner but have been amazed by the clarity and definition these binoculars provide. Comet Lovejoy was kind enough to come along at the right time and this is very clear in my light polluted sky. The disc of Andromeda was apparent which was one of the main reasons for buying these. The Pleiades positively sparkle and the moon is excellent but too bright for me without a filter. I have been nipping out to look at things far more just to appreciate the quality view.
The weight of these binoculars concerned me a little but this magnification generally needs mounting anyway so it hasn t been the issue I feared. My needs were for an instrument that provided excellent views at a good magnification and yet could be used for grab and go without the hassle of setting up a telescope. These feel solid and robust enough to provide many years of good service. Like the other reviews here I am very pleased with my purchase.
Also I would just like to say that Microglobe have provided an excellent and quick service. I was kept informed of every step of the process and even had a link to show the delivery vehicle on a map with a very accurate time of delivery. I would not hesitate to use them again.

I ve only have these Bino s less than a week and already I ve have more relaxed enjoyment than I ever did with my scopes 6" frac and 5" Mak and all the setting up that goes with them. The service was excellent from Microglobe - A high qual mounting bracket was thrown in - other retailers state bracket not included.
My tripod is now two legs mine and a monopod - easy life! I was tempted to go for higher magnification but decided to follow advice from the experienced - no regrets.

This is the first fairly big aperture binocular I have owned I am pleased to say I could not be any happier with it! The build quality is of a very high standard they really do feel like they are built to last. Optically they are superb nice and bright sharp for most of the 4.4° fov and show excellent contrast. These have become my main grab go astronomy instrument will see a lot of use.
A big thank you to Microglobe for the excellent service I look forward to dealing with you again in the future.

The build quality and sharpness of the views the Helios Apollo High Resolution 15x70 give is very good. I would recommend them for astronomy and for terrestrial use.
The binoculars are a bit on the heavy side for holding for long periods I use a Camlink heavy duty tripod for astronomy. Microglobe delivery was very quick; I am very pleased with the service they provided.
