The Lensbaby Composer Pro with Double Glass Optic (Sony E-Mount) is part of the
Lensbaby series of SLR lenses, and offers the same spectacular special-effect
results. The refined and enhanced Composer Pro has all-metal balls that gives
you a more exact, smooth focus and tilt control and will retain its position
after being bent, which makes it easy to use even with one hand. The Composer
Pro’s metal swivel ball design and refined focus mechanism deliver ultra-smooth
focus and tilt control. The updated focus mechanism features a fluid and
accurate dampened focus ring comparable to the focus mechanisms of the highest
quality professional manual focus lenses.
The Lensbaby Composer Pro ships with the Double Glass Optic
installed. Each optic delivers a sweet spot of sharp focus that photographers
can move around the photo by tilting the Composer Pro’s swivelling lens
body. The Double Glass Optic, a 50mm selective focus optic with drop-in
aperture discs, provides a tack-sharp Sweet Spot of focus with minimum diffusion
at all aperture settings.
The Double Glass Optic is a hybrid between a bellows camera and a
tilt-shift camera. It allows for selective focusing with
SLR cameras. It will bring one area of a photo into sharp focus,
surrounded by gradually increasing blur. Effects like blurring, glowing
highlights, and subtle, prismatic colour distortions can all be achieved without
software manipulations. The lens can be bent off-centre in any direction for
different results.
The Double Glass Optic is most popular optic, providing a tack-sharp
Sweet Spot of focus surrounded by blur, with minimum diffusion at all aperture
settings. The Composer is a breeze to use. Simply bend the lens to move the
Sweet Spot and then focus. The Composer stays in its bent position without
needing to be locked. If you want to ensure the Composer will not move during an
extended shooting session, you can lock the lens's position by rotating the
locking ring. This locking feature makes the Composer ideal for studio
photography or for longer or repeated exposures.
