Luna Optics LN-DM50-HRSD NV Digital Monocular: Latest technology night vision monocular that offers automatic transmission between full colour at day time and super light sensitive black and white at night time. The monocular employed super high resolution CCD and precision all-glass optics that offers 5x-20x image magnification. The monocular offers electronic zoom system and employed 500mW high power IR illuminator. The monocular offers viewing distance up to 200m in total darkness. The LN-DM50-HRSD can take images and record video on an external memory card and can transmit images and videos to computer via a standard usb cable. The unit deliver crystal clear image even at the highest magnification. Unit comes with a carry case, 4GB SD card, USB and video cables to transmit the images onto your Computer, TV or monitor screen, a DC wall adapter and a built-in tripod mount.

    Very well built and easy to operate although in the dark I sometimes press the wrong button. I am sure I shall get used to it in time. Picture quality is excellent for a night vision device but do not expect the quality to be as good as normal daytime binoculars. The zoom is very useful but obviously a tripod would be needed for easier viewing. Picture and video capture were my main reason for buying. I am not aware of any other NV device that can do this for anything close to this price. The device is able to view items at hundreds of yards away especially with the IR switched on. The depth of field is fairly narrow so it is not that easy to focus but the brightness control makes this easier. The fact that the device is not harmed by daylight or lights is another advantage over a normal NV device.
