Night Detective Gelios 5 Night Vision Monocular has Infrared illuminator is conveniently built into the device and does not require additional set of batteries. Two independent switches, comfortably placed for easy operation, control the main power and the Infrared illuminator. Either one or both of the switches can be engaged independently based on the particular situation and surrounding conditions.

I have used several night vision scopes in the past including the rubbish on internet auctions, my current scope is a Generation 2 monocular costing nearly £800. The Gelios 5 really impressed me, the 5x magnification and clear image makes this scope excellent value for money, in low light conditions it's almost as good as the Gen II's.
