it's a Nikon lens, what more is there to say? it's quality is what you would expect at this price. it is small and light and feels solid. the front glass needs to be well-looked after as it is impossible to fit a filter on this lens. my only gripe is the slip-on lens cap, not very practicle, it is easily pushed off the lens leaving the glass vulnerable to knocks or fingerprints. other than that it is GREAT! get down to things and get close then you will see a whole new world. it takes some getting used to but, as i take more pics, i am more impressed with it. yes it's expensive but what else are you going to spend it on? don't hum and har about getting it, just do it and open up your new perspective. find excitement in your photography again! be wild and whacky, this lens will encourage you to be just that.
