Nikon 12x50 SE CF Porro Prism Binocular: Nikon is a precision optical company with global manufacturing, research and marketing capabilities. The Nikon 12 x 50 SE CF is one of the most highly developed porro prism binocular in the market. Porro prism designs have the lens barrels set further apart than the eyepieces making them larger in size and bulkier than their equivalent roof prism models. The simpler optical manufacturing process makes it less expensive to produce equivalent porro prisms over roof prisms. They also do not suffer from phase distortion; which affects contrast and sharpness on roof models and they generate slightly better depth perception because the lens barrels are set slightly further apart than the eyepieces. Nikon's original field flattener system certifies a wide, but flat field of view, perfect for spectacle wearers. The protein compound rubber armouring gives shock resistance and a firm, comfortable grip.

Also, this 12x50 binocular has very long (17.4mm) eye relief in relation to its power, making it possible for eyeglass wearers to enjoy the five degree angle of view and generous field of view (87m @ 1,000m.) High definition BaK4 prisms, super high grade optical glass and Nikon's exclusive multi-layered lens and prism coatings, in concert with this eyepiece, deliver images that go beyond the theoretical limit of resolution.
12 X magnification coupled with 50mm objective lenses provides a substantial 4.16mm exit pupil. Nikon's exclusive method of coating all lens and prism surfaces with multiple layers of proprietary anti-reflective coatings delivers maximum brightness, high contrast, true colour rendition and flare free viewing from dawn to dusk. To reduce weight, Nikon builds the 12 x 50 chassis from a lightweight, but really strong magnesium alloy. Total weight of the 182 x 202 mm binocular is only 900 g. The 12x50 SE is ergonomically shaped for appropriate balance, but is also readily tripod adaptable. Moreover, for an added measure of safety and sure grip, the Nikon 12x50 SE features a unique protein rubber external coating.
