Nikon 28mm f2.8dD AF Lens: Nikon 28mm F2.8d Lens is released by Nikon in 1994 and is one of the older version of Nikon AF lenses. The field of view of Nikon 28mm is equivalent to 42mm on Nikon APS-C Digital Single-Lens Reflex cameras and therefore it behaves like a standard lens. On classic full frame Single-Lens Reflex cameras, it is a wide to ultra-wide-angle lens. Nikon 28mm f/2.8 D lens has built similar to 24mm lens, with the outer barrel is made of polycarbonate with a metal mount. Nikon 28mm f2.8d Lens has rubber made focus ring operates very smooth.

Nikon 28mm f2.8d Lens has a linear extension system and therefore the whole inner tube moves during focusing, thus extending the lens [marginally], during closer focus distance. Nikon 28mm f2.8d Lens has no automated motor for Auto focus and thus depends on the slotted drive screw that operates with the camera. The Auto Focus [AF] function produces a small degree of noise during focusing. Nikon 28mm f2.8d Lens is light weight lens delivers effective and excellent AF speed on the D200 cameras. The front lens element doesn't rotate during AF and polarizing filter can be used easily.
