THIS IS A SPECULATION.
At a certain point a "100 years" celebrative model appeared on the market.
The price of that collector item doubled the non-collector version actually THE VERY SAME apart from the 100 years logo printed on it.... .
Once the special version has been sold out here comes again the "old" version with a doubled price!!!

Nikon 8x30 is The high water mark of porro prism binocular. Wide fov sharp edge to edge Great nikon glass. Good for astronomiche ad general viene. Worth the price.
Excellent porro if you like porro s then this is a no brainer get it while you still can production of the EII has stopped and stock will not last much longer. I have yet to find their optical eqaul and I have looked at Zeise and Swaro top end bins.
A truly wonderful binocular yes ok they are not waterproof and will need more careful ownership than a roof bin but they are so very much worth it.
