Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 16-80mm F2.8-4E ED VR Lens is a
lightweight, compact, durable, user friendly and reliable lens which is designed
for Nikon F mount digital cameras. The DX-format 16-80mm VR lens is surprisingly
compact, lightweight and covers a wide range of subject from landscapes to
distant sports. The maximum aperture F2.8-4 is ideal to work in low lighting
conditions and enables photographers to shoot at faster shutter speed with
shallow depth-of-field. This lens is ideal for taking stills when travelling and
for all around general photography including landscapes, portraits and distant
subjects. The 16-80mm lens is also excellent for recording HD video as it can be
used for wide establishing shots, medium close-up shots and extreme telephoto
sequences when the users want to separate the subject from the background. Its
field of view is equivalent to a 24-120mm zoom on a full-frame (FX) system. For
creative close-ups of everything from passion-projects to flowers, the lens has
a very useful minimum focusing distance of merely 1.15’ throughout the entire
zoom range. The lens is constructed of 17 elements in 13 groups, and features a
seven-blade diaphragm to create a circular, natural bokeh for a pleasing out of
focus area of the image. Having four ED glass elements and three aspherical
elements means that the lens will provide you and your camera with spectacular
image quality, clarity and contrast in every frame you capture. When either lens
is in manual-priority autofocus (M/A) mode, users will be able to instantly
switch from autofocus to manual focus operation by simply rotating the focus
ring. Additionally 16-80mm features an internal focusing system, providing fast
focus without changing the length of the lens while retaining working distance
through the focus range. Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM) technology designed to
deliver fast, accurate and quiet AF performance. The lens features Nano Crystal
Coating and Super Integrated Coating (SIC) that reduces instances of ghosting
and flare for the highest quality images. The front and rear elements also
integrate a fluorine coating to make it easier to remove dirt, moisture and
smudges from the
lens surface. With the addition of built-in electromagnetic
aperture mechanism, this innovation electronically adjusts the aperture within
the lens, resulting in consistent exposure during high speed shooting. With
Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization technology provides up to 4 stops
of image stabilization, helping to create sharp images while shooting handheld
or in challenging light. It's suited for all levels of photography and video
capture, from amateur to professional.
