AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm F3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens is multipurpose zoom lens capable
of wide-angle and telephoto imaging with a 35mm focal length equivalence of
27-210mm. The maximum aperture F3.5-5.6 is ideal to work in low lighting
conditions and enables photographers to shoot at faster shutter speed with
shallow depth-of-field. This lens is ideal for taking stills when travelling and
for all around general photography including landscapes, portraits and distant
subjects. The 18-140mm lens is also good for recording video as it can be used
for wide establishing shots, medium close-up shots and extreme telephoto
sequences when the users want to separate the subject from the background. The
minimum focus distance is 1.48' and its 7-blade rounded aperture helps to
provide pleasing out-of-focus backgrounds. The lens is constructed of 17
elements in 12 groups, and features a seven-blade diaphragm to create a
circular, natural bokeh for a pleasing out of focus area of the image. Having
one ED glass elements and one aspherical elements means that the
lens
will provide you and your camera with spectacular image quality, clarity and
contrast in every frame you capture. When either lens is in manual-priority
autofocus (M/A) mode, users will be able to instantly switch from autofocus to
manual focus operation by simply rotating the focus ring. Additionally it
features an internal focusing system, providing fast focus without changing the
length of the lens while retaining working distance through the focus range.
Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM) technology designed to deliver fast, accurate
and quiet AF performance. The Super Integrated Coating (SIC) reduces instances
of ghosting and flare for the highest quality images. With Vibration Reduction (VR)
image stabilization technology provides up to 4 stops of image stabilization,
helping to create sharp images while shooting handheld or in challenging light.
It's suited for all levels of photography and video capture, from amateur to
professional.
