The Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300mm F3.5-6.3G ED VR Lens is a lightweight, compact, durable, user friendly and reliable lens which is designed for Nikon F-Bayonet mount digital cameras. The DX-format 18-300mm VR lens is surprisingly compact, lightweight and covers a focal range from wide-angle 18mm to super-telephoto 300mm. At the 300mm focal length setting, the lens large f/6.3 aperture enables photographers to shoot at faster shutter speeds with shallow depth-of-field. This new super telephoto zoom lens is ideal for taking stills when travelling and for all around general photography including landscapes, portraits and distant subjects. The 18-300mm lens is also excellent for recording HD video as it can be used for wide establishing shots, medium close-up shots and extreme telephoto sequences when the users want to separate the subject from the background. It's an excellent multi-use lens that can be used anywhere on any subject.

The long-range 18-300mm focal length can cover everything from wide-angle shots to high-power zoom shots. It delivers the equivalent of 450mm of telephoto range and it's also great for close-up shots as close as 0.48m from your subject at 300mm. In addition to the obvious advantages of a long 16.7x telephoto zoom range, the lens also employs a zoom-lock switch, and 7-blade rounded diaphragm opening and three ED and aspherical lens elements. The zoom-lock switch helps to keep the lens secure when it is not in use, preventing it from extending and getting bumped or damaged. And utilizing a 7-blade rounded diaphragm allows for beautiful bokeh and blurred background effects in photos with a shallower depth of field. Having three ED glass elements and three aspherical elements means this lens will provide you and your camera with spectacular image quality, clarity and contrast in every frame you capture.

It's suited for all levels of photography and video capture, from amateur to professional. When either lens is in manual-priority autofocus (M/A) mode, users will be able to instantly switch from autofocus to manual focus operation by simply rotating the focus ring, even during AF servo operation. Additionally 18-300mm feature an internal focusing system, providing fast focus without changing the length of the lens while retaining working distance through the focus range, and Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM) technology designed to deliver fast, accurate and quiet AF performance. The 18-300mm also boast Nikon’s Super Integrated Coating (SIC) which provides superb colour reproduction, colour consistency and reduced flaring. The image stabilizer allows use of shutter speeds up to 3-stops slower with no perceptible increase in image blur, even in low-light conditions.
