Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm F2.8G ED VR II Lens
This fast f/2.8 telephoto lens features Nikon’s VR image stabilization
technology and Nano Crystal Coat and high-speed AF for exceptional optical
performance. Super-fast telephoto AF-S lens with Vibration Reduction (VR) and
Nano Crystal Coat.
Nikon's exclusive Silent Wave Motor (SWM) enables ultra-high-speed auto focusing
with exceptional accuracy and powerful super-quiet operation. These lenses have
a Focal Length (FL) fix by opening fix also in F 2.8, also equipped with the
VR II technology, which ensures the image will not shake even though holding
the lens. This new version includes a 4-stop image stabilization system where
the last version was only a 3-stop. At the same time , a brand new 2x
teleconverters has been announced that contains new aspherical lens elements for
greatly improved optical performance.
The latest edition of the NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8 lens advances one of the
most popular fast-aperture focal lengths for sports, nature and wildlife
photography, demonstrating Nikon commitment to professional photographers
through the continued development of the optical fidelity and sharpness.
Vibration Reduction (VR) technology offers the equivalent of using a
shutter speed 3 stops faster. In addition, active vibration mode selection is
achievable for use in situations with a moving boat, car or plane and provides
VR performance with automatic detection of panning. VR on/off mode available.
Internal Focusing (IF) design for smoother focusing.
Extraordinarily high optical performance; well-matched with both 35mm and
digital SLR models. Three Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements
effectively compensate for magnification and virtually eliminate chromatic
aberration. Meniscus protective glass element overcomes internal reflections
from digital imaging sensor.
Focus mode switch enables quick response to changing situations with
quick-switching between M/A (Manual-Priority Autofocus) and M (Manual focus)
modes. AF operation switch enables easy selection of settings. Focus preset
function instantly recalls a preset focal point. Focus limiter switch limits
AF-servo movement to a selected shooting distance range.
