I bought this eyepiece for 2 main reasons: 1) to aid manual focussing when using large apertures and 2) reduce smudging (nose prints) on the rear monitor screen. I must say that with a slightly magnified image you get with this eyepiece, accurate focussing is made a whole lot easier, especially when used in conjuction with the on screen focus indicator. I found that I have also spent less time is cleaning the rear monitor as the DK-17M is a little thicker than the original eyepiece and contact between nose and the rear monitor is reduced. I would consider this eyepiece well worth the money for under £18 and can recommend it especially for those frequently shooting with aperatures wide open.

Note that to replace the existing eyepice, you will need to close the shutter on the view finder using the eyepiece shutter lever. This will then allow you to unscrew the eyepiece off. Attaching the replacement eyepiece is just the reversal of the above procedure.
