Pentax 07 Mount Shield 11.5mm f/9 Lens: The Lens is a highly compact and lightweight measuring just 0.3"-thick. The cap-style lens featuring a fixed focus design and fixed f/9 aperture, having pronounced Bokeh and Blur effect that is well-suited to shallow depth of field applications with close-up imagery. When used on a Q7 mirror less digital camera the 35mm-equivalent focal length is 53mm and on Q and Q10 camera it is 63.5mm. The lens offers a distinctive look to imagery, akin to a pinhole camera, with a smooth out-of-focus quality and marked distortion and blur along the edges that adds a unique, creative touch to close-up imagery with a set focusing range of 11.8" to 6.6'. This is a fun little lens. Not for general use as it is fixed focus and subjects beyond approximately 6 feet get progressively blurry. However as a result of the edge distortions and blur within the intended focus range it gives an exaggerated "toy camera" look that can be used to great effect. I m not sure I would leave it on the camera as a body cap substitute as I can only see me using it occasionally - however it is small enough to leave in a small side pocket of my camera bag and is worth keeping to hand. At Microglobe s price it s very good value and recommended for novelty photography. Dealing with Microglobe was pleasurable as always.
