I bought these Pentax binoculars to replace some Nikon Sporter 8x36 which lacked some modern features.
The Pentax are more compact focus to about 5 feet and are solidly built. I am no binocular expert but they do give a brighter image with better definition. On a negative note the rubber finish seems to mark easily the marks rub out and I prefer the look and feel of the Nikons.
The compact size close focus and strong build plus a first class image mean the Pentax 8x32 DCF SP were a worthwhile purchase.
