Sigma 12-24mm f4 Art DG HSM Lens is a full frame wide angle zoom designed to
have minimal distortion in its wide angle imagery. The lens is constructed using
a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, along with traditional metals for
greater precision and use in wide temperature variations. Features dust and
splash proof with rubber sealing to protect the mount and a water and
oil-repellent coating on the front and rear elements.
The lens belongs to the Sigma’s Art series of professional lenses with an
emphasis on artistic expression. This
lens is designed for full-frame format Canon EF-mount cameras and can also
be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 19.2-38.4mm equivalent focal
length.
A rounded 9-blade diaphragm improves image quality by helping create smooth
bokeh. The lens minimum focusing distance of 24cm allows capturing wide-angle
close-ups from nearly a foot away. With a bright f/4 maximum aperture provides
consistent performance throughout the zoom range.
With the Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), the lens offers quick and accurate control
over the artistic effects achieved by the lens high quality elements. The lens
works perfectly with auto focus as well as full time manual cameras without
having to switch camera modes. The lens
Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) and floating inner focusing system ensures quick,
quiet and precise auto focusing.
The anti-flare super multi layer coatings reduce lens flare, internal
reflections and light scattering that can occur between the surfaces of its
glass elements. This lens incorporates a brass made bayonet mount which has both
high accuracy and durability. A special treatment is applied to the surface,
giving it greater strength and making it highly durable for long-term use.
The lens incorporates "F" Low Dispersion (FLD) glass elements, which have
performance, equal to that of fluorite. By optimizing the power alignment of the
lens, chromatic aberration has been corrected, achieving high image quality
through the entire focusing range. This lens is perfect for landscape
photography, architecture photography, interior photography and much more.
