Sigma 86mm EX DG
Digitally Optimised UV Multi-Coated Glass Filter is a lightweight and compact
filter which
works with lenses that are threaded for 86mm filters. With the advantages from
Sigma's
multi-layer lens coating, intended to counteract the extremely reflective
characteristic
of image sensors. The non-coated filters, light would reflect off the image
sensor, bounce
off the lens and filter elements and re-enter the image sensor, producing a
ghost image
and disturbing the quality of image.
To eliminate the ghost effect the Sigma 86mm UV is applied multi-layer coatings that dramatically diminish this effect. On the other hand the resulting image is an optimum, neutral colour balanced. Sigma ultra-violet is compatible with both colour and black-and-white film and digital sensors. The 86mm EX DG UV Filter precisely removes the highly unwanted effect of ultraviolet light. It is the most effective filter for lens protection and general photography. It protects the lens surfaces from dust, moisture, dirt build up scratches and other damages.
