When supplied with 2x Teleconverter, it turns the Sigma 200-500mm into a 400-1000mm F5.6 lens. It is lightweight, durable for outdoor activities. It offers variable focal length that gives high optical performance through the entire zoom range.
Sigma APO 200-500MM F2.8 EX DG Lens features an APO (Apochromate) design and four (4) Special Low Dispersion (SLD) Glass that improves colour contrast with maximum correction of all chromatic and spherical aberrations. Far away objects can be focused correctly with fine details without disturbing focusing distance. An outstanding feature of Sigma APO 200-500mm F2.8 Lens is that shooting distance and focal length can be viewed on the lens’ LCD panel, which is an additional convenience for the photographer.

As front part of the lens doesn't rotate, so circular polarizing filters can be used with its ingenious rotation mechanism.
