Sigma HSM 85mm F1.4 EX DG For Sony Alpha

for everything from portraiture to sports, the fast Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG
HSM Lens for Sony Alpha Fit is a big solution. This Sigma HSM 85mm F1.4
EX DG large aperture beauty is designed with an SLD (Special Low
Dispersion) glass element and a glass mold element which yield first-class,
sharp image captures with high contrast. The lens features a fast /1.4
aperture, nine curved aperture blades, and a SLD (super low dispersion) lens
element (the lens is composed of 11 elements, in 8 groups). The front element
sports a Super Multi-Layer Coating to reduce flare and ghosting.
When shot wide open (/1.4), the lens produced
images with edge-to-edge sharpness in the range of 2 blur units. Stopping down
further improves sharpness between /2 and /2.8, until it reaches a level of
tack-sharpness at /4. It remains sharp through to /11, where diffraction
limiting begins to appear, but even there we note only 1.5 blur units across the
frame. Even fully stopped-down at /16, we're back to just 2 blur units.
The 85mm f/1.4 has Sigma's HSM
(Hyper Sonic Motor) which provides fast, precise and quiet autofocusing. The
exterior of this 85mm f/1.4 lens is EX-finished which translates to a
superior build and optical quality, improved handling and appearance. It comes
with a petal-type hood to block out extraneous light. A dedicated hood adapter
for cameras with an APS-C size image sensor is also included to expand the
length of the hood for blocking out extraneous light more effectively.
