The Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD SP Lens (Nikon Fit) is a high-speed, standard
zoom, Super Performance Lens with integrated Vibration Compensation (VC) and
Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD). Tamron’s VC enables you to shoot hand-held in
weakly light conditions and use speeds up to four stops slower than normal.
Realising high performance and high image quality, this high-speed standard zoom
lens offers 24mm to 70mm coverage together with Tamron's exclusive VC (Vibration
Compensation) system and quiet auto focus. Since this is an SP (Super
Performance) series lens, the optical design places the highest priority on
image quality with the widespread use of special optics, including three LD (Low
Dispersion) lenses and two XR (Extra Refractive Index) lenses. The result is
best-in-class image quality that reduces various type of distortion. As well,
the F/2.8 high speed and the circular diaphragm construction enable this lens to
accomplish beautiful out-of-focus effects while the high resolution gives finely
detailed images.

Nikon Fit lens incorporates special high-grade glass in three LD
elements, three glass molded aspherical lenses, one hybrid aspherical lens and
two Extra Refractive (XR) elements to deliver exceptional images. The USD
provides quick AF (Auto Focus) that’s quiet, together with full-time manual
focus override. Along with its moisture-resistant construction, the Tamron
24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD SP Lens (Nikon
Fit) is equipped with a fast maximum aperture of f2.8 to ensure natural
out-of-focus areas with a shallow depth of field.
The weight and high building indicate this Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD SP
Lens (Nikon
Fit) has been created for serious use. The fast f/2.8 maximum
aperture means the front element is comparatively large (with a filter thread of
82mm), however the barrel itself is compact. The wide zoom ring dominates the
majority of the front half and boasts a grooved, rubberised finish which makes
it very user friendly. The zoom action is smooth and offers a good level of
resistance, with a lock switch permitting the lens to be held at 24mm
when not in use. Behind the zoom ring is the manual focus ring, which is
relatively thin, but sports a textured rubberised finish for simplicity of use.
It has a very nice action and can be used even if the lens is switched to AF;
handy when you wish to make minor adjustments to the focusing point. An internal
focus system means the front of the lens remains stationary during focus; useful
when filters are attached. Other features include the Vibration Compensation
On/off switch near to the AF switch, and a focus distance window on the top rear
of the lens, having a scale displaying metres and feet. The overall build
quality is outstanding and the lens boasts dampness resistance to help prevent
water from penetrating inside.
