The 1.25” 435nm Dark Blue Filter from Baader is specially designed for photographic planetary and visual observations. This 435nm filter helps in better detection of phase of the Venus planet and also the violet clearing on Mars can be seen better with this filter. It also enhances the great-red-spot on Jupiter and contrast between the belts and also between zones on Saturn. The dark-blue filter is multi-coated to render reflection-free images. Also, both sides are 7-layer AR coating with only 0.25% residual reflection per surface. This is the most anti-reflective that has ever been undertaken with colour filters. Additionally, the filter is plane-optically polished to within 30 seconds of arc to deliver a sharp image at high magnification with non-ageing sealed coating edges.
