The Celestron AC to DC Power Adapter is a device that allows Celestron telescopes with a 5.5mm DC input on their drive base to be powered by AC 120-240V, 50-60 Hz AC current supplies. It has a 2-prong North American power plug on a ~6' cord and a 5.5mm circular DC output jack on a ~6' cord. The transformer box is located between these two cords.

The North American plug cord can be detached from the transformer, while the cord with the 5.5mm DC plug is permanently attached to the transformer. The output of this adapter is consistently 12 volts DC, making it compatible with Celestron telescopes such as the Advanced, Celestar 8, CG9/11/14, CI700, CPC, CGE, NexStar i, NexStar SE, Celestron NexStar i, NexStar SE, Ultima 2000 series, and others.
