Great scope. I have 114mm newtonian on EQ mount and I have searched for something light and practical to carry on a field trips newtonian is too big . This is great spotting scope and it can be used as a small telescope it is light cheap with good optics and a adaptor for 1 25 oculars and I have many of those . Zoom ocular that comes with it is OK but not the best optics in the world but for the price who can blame him .
Tripod however is useable but not good unstable with a lot of shaking . Thread adapter on a scope is a standard optics tread so any photo tripod will be a huge improvement over this one. I knew that prior to buying and I have my own photo tripod so it was not an issue to me.
Packing by Microglobe was great it took me 3 minutes to get it out of the boxes very safe and secure.
