The frame stands and hangs in either landscape or portrait mode, making it

The back of the frame is removed to put the photo inside and then replaced and
secured into place using the four, metal fold back clips
The metal hook plate on the back can be taken off the shorter end of the frame
and replaced on the longer side, so it can be hung in landscape mode
