Nikon's very best full multi-coatings on all optical surfaces are applied. Its rigorous multicoating procedures enable to identify stars one half to a full magnitude fainter than those visible with ordinary binoculars of the same 10x70 specification.

Premium quality, oversized BaK-4 porro prisms are incorporated for best image quality. The binocular offers 5.1° True field of view. Long eye relief ratcheting eyecup adjustments that allow for a perfect view, with or with or eyewear. The waterproof and fog proof 10x70 Astroluxe have a friendly pebble-grained exterior, and it is known to keep its alignment despite heavy use. To further enhance observation experience, Nikon offers optional angled eyecups, polarizing filters, and a dedicated tripod adapter.
