Extra Low Dispersion optical glass (ED) elements virtually eradicate secondary optical chromatic aberrations; such aberrations are typical in ordinary telephoto optics.

Nikon 300mm F4 ED-IF AF-S Nikkor lens has an aperture range between 4-32. Minimum focus distance 8 feet (2.5). It has a built-in slide-out hood provides excellent shielding for the large 82mm front element. It takes 39mm drop-in filter.
