Review by ,    ,    Customer Rating:   5 of 5 Stars!

Having spent time reviewing different binoculars I set my stall for Nikon Monarch 7 8x42. None in stock. I happened to be in London so visited the shop. Looked at a couple of makes and the was shown the Nikon HGL 8x42. Significantly more money of which I was not convinced at first. Also looked at Zeiss etc. bought the Nikons took home and set up. Good all round but when tested against other bins could not see much difference. Some differences really centred around preferences. Natural colour etc etc. I then took the Nikons out early evening and started to see why they had bee in Nikon flagship bins. I could see very clearly at dusk. Thought I would then test them out in the dark. Staggeringly good. Watched badgers in almost full darkness. Admittedly colour had reduced significantly but the light hitting my eyes was astounding. I would recommend these binoculars to any serious person wanting to watch wildlife at dusk and beyond !!
