The Nikon AF NIKKOR 180mm f/2.8D IF-ED Lens is a high-performance lens with a telephoto feature. It is one of the most admired lenses for sports events and hall concerts. The lens is recommended for sports photography, portrait photography, news events and astronomy. Nikon 180mm is a lightweight compact design lens made of 8 elements in 6 different groups. The optical construction also consists of 1-one "Extra-Low Dispersion" ED lens element for superior performance and high image quality. The lens delivers excellent result and the images acquired are high contrast, high resolution, crisp and sharp. The focus function is equipped with "Internal Focusing" mechanism for fast and quiet autofocus keeping the focus component move inside the lens, ensures the use of polarizing filter and hood convenient.

Note: This is the current version "D" of the 180mm F2.8. This version sends Distance information the camera. The D at the end of the model name in gold on the identity plate. This shows this lens is a D version. See picture.
