About Pentax Binoculars:
All of the binocular products from Pentax are made with the highest quality
optics and mechanics. They're very serious when it comes to the quality of their
products, including safety, and work toward meeting all the required standards.
There are approximately 45 types and models of binoculars available from
Pentax,
grouped into either the compact and full size category. Pentax binoculars have
various levels of magnification available. Their Papilio series has a
magnification of 6.5X, but other magnifications available on other binoculars
are 7X, 8X, 8.5X, 9X, 10X, 12X, and 12.5X. Few binoculars are higher in
magnification. Pentax offers a fairly standard range when it comes to the
objective lenses of all their binoculars. The average objective lens size of
them all falls around the middle of the 17 to 60 range. With all of Pentax's
binoculars, you'll get just over 100 ft. of view at 1000 yd. with their highest
F.O.V. reaching over 400 yd. at the same distance.
Some standard features
are added to the selected models like,
multicoating the lens elements that ensures the maximum light transmission
through them; high performance glass
Bak-4 type for good color reproduction and lesser aberrations; and
waterproof and fog free design.

Customer Reviews on Pentax UP 8x25 Water Proof Porro Prism Compact Binoculars£90.00
Bought as a Christmas present so unable to give details in use but had a quick look and they seemed an excellent good value pair of binoculars.
At least comparable to my Nikon Travelites with the additional benefit of being waterproof and anti fog.
Well built and sold with a complete kit. But it s quite bulky so if you are looking for a pair of real pocket binoculars i don t recommend the pentax. The vision is sharp the field of view a little narrow but the main issue in my opinion is the eye relief. Pentax declares 15mm of eye relief but i am finding quite difficult to use these binos while wearing my eyeglasses. For example with my olympus 8x25 wp II that have theorically the same eye relief of 15mm i don t have any problem. Also with the Celestron Granite 9x33 eye relief 14.1 i didn t encounter any problem but with the pentax up 8x25 i need to remove my eyeglasses.
