focal length is equivalent to a 35mm lens in the 28.5mm format. The ultra-compact and lightweight construction
guarantees outstanding mobility, making it perfect for many types of
photography. Its three glasses molded aspherical elements provide brilliant
correction for distortion, minimum colour aberration and field curvature. Sigma
also ensures excellent correction for distortion and provides high image quality
throughout the frame. The inner focusing system corrects the fluctuation of
aberration to preserve image quality regardless of the focusing position. Its
superior telecentric optical design improves the image quality throughout the
frame. The image quality is enhanced further with Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer
Coating which reduces flare and ghosting and provides high contrast images even
in backlit conditions. This Sigma 19mm f2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-Mount benefits
from a newly developed linear AF motor which moves the lens unit directly
without the need for gears or the drive of other mechanical parts. This system
ensures accurate and almost silent auto focusing, making the lens appropriate
for video recording as well as still photos. The AF unit is controlled by
electromagnetic meaning it will only operate when power from the camera is sent
to the
lens. If the lens is not attached to the camera or the camera is switched
off, the AF unit will move freely inside the lens. The lens features a rounded 7
blade diaphragm creates an attractive, smooth blur to the out-of-focus parts of
the image. The wide focus ring makes sure improved usability when manually
focusing and the minimum focusing distance of 0.2m and makes it ideal for
close-up photography.
