The Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD SP Lens - Canon Fit is a quick, standard zoom,
Super Performance (SP) Lens with fitted Vibration Compensation (VC) and
Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD). Tamron’s VC enables you to shoot hand-held in
dimly light conditions and use speeds up to four stops slower than normal. This
compact, lightweight lens incorporates special high-grade glass in three LD
elements, three glass molded aspherical lenses, one hybrid aspherical lens and
two Extra Refractive (XR) elements to deliver exceptional images. The USD
provides quick AF (Auto Focus) that’s quiet, together with full-time manual
focus override. Along with its moisture-resistant construction, the Tamron
24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD SP Lens - Canon Fit is equipped with a fast maximum
aperture of f2.8 to ensure natural out-of-focus areas with a shallow
depth of field.
The result is best-in-class image quality that reduces various types of distortion. Additionally, the f/2.8 high speed aperture and the circular diaphragm construction enable this lens to attain beautiful out-of-focus effects while the high resolution gives finely detailed images. The Tamron AF 24-70mm f/2.8 SP Di USD VC has the usual semi-matte black finish of Tamron lenses with a gold stripe. The wide zoom ring is rubberized and is found towards the front of the lens while the narrower rubberized focus ring is found closer to the rear. On the side of the lens is an on/off switch for VC (vibration compensation). There's also an AF/MF switch, though the lens does have full time manual focus, so you can manually adjust focus at any time, even with the switch in the AF position. The Tamron AF 24-70mm f/2.8 SP Di USD VC is weather sealed (Tamron refer to it as "moisture resistant") and has a rubber gasket on the mounting flange to mate with the sealing gasket found on Canon's higher end weather sealed cameras.
