The Tokina FX(Full Frame) AT-X 16-28mm F2.8 PRO Lens For Nikon is ultra wide
zoom lens for full-frame Nikon DSLR cameras. Incorporating a constant aperture
of F/2.8, a fixed lens hood and a quiet focussing motor coupled with a GMR
magnetic AF sensor, the
Tokina 16-28mm lens also features the unique One-touch Focus Clutch
Mechanism to switch between auto and manual focus simply by snapping the focus

Nikon has a large, multi-coated aspherical glass optical element in the
front lens group, two additional aspherical elements in the rear group, and
three super low-dispersion elements that reduce aberrations. The Tokina AT-X
16-28mm F2.8 Pro FX is large and heavy for an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens,
covering a focal range of 16-28mm. About a quarter of its size is taken up by
the fixed lens hood, which helps prevent lens flare and also protects the
protruding front element from scratches and finger marks.
Designed specifically for Nikon pro level DSLRs with a full frame (FX) sensor
(such as the
Nikon D700 and D3x), this super wide-angle zoom has 15 elements in 13
groups, using aspherical and SD super-low dispersion glass elements to reduce
chromatic aberration and give maximum resolution. The silent DC motor allows the
lens to focus quickly and quietly and works with a GMR magnetic AF sensor to
increase AF speed even more. The 16-28 f/2.8 uses a newly developed
silent DC motor that allows the lens to focus faster and more quietly then
previous generations. The DC motor coupled with a new GMR magnetic AF sensor
work together to increase AF Speed. A new, 56mm-diameter, large size aspherical
glass element is incorporated into the front lens group, while there are 2 more
aspherical elements in the rear group. 3 SD super-low dispersion glass elements
are also incorporated throughout the optical design to reduce chromatic
aberration, give maximum resolution, more even brightness and distortion
correction.

I have had and used the Lens now for just over a week.
The service I received from Microglobe was excellent. The staff member I spoke before ordering was very helpful and did check to see if in stock .The price was found to be the best around from a shop not the internet .
