Pentax 6.5x21 Papilio II Porro Prism Binoculars : It combines aspherical optical elements and BAK4 Porro prisms to deliver edge-to-edge image sharpness. The optical elements are also fully multicoated to provide a high transmission of light. With a 6.5x magnification and 21mm objectives, a notable medium range magnification, insignificant image jitter due to unsteady hands, and a compact form factor is offered.
You can easily spot targets with a wide 7.5° angular field of view and quickly bring them into focus with a center focus wheel. In addition to observing distant scenes, birds and game, the minimum focus of 0.5m allows to study in detail close objects like butterflies, animal footprints, marks or landscape features due to its Convergent lens optical system engineering.
To reduce image jitter while observing distant objects or for prolonged observations it is recommended to connect the binocular to a tripod via an integrated 1/4"-20 socket. The binocular also features a 3.2mm exit pupil, a 15mm eye relief, an interpupillary and a diopter adjustments.
High grade tough rubber covered exterior provides a sure grip and protects the internal mechanisms. To accommodate eye glasses wearers, the binocular offers twist-up rubber eyecups. Also included are a carrying case, a neck strap, and eyepiece covers.

Customer Reviews on Pentax 6.5x21 Papilio II Porro Prism Binoculars£114.00
Every time I use these I spend the first few minutes saying Wow . Certainly the best binoculars I ve ever owned amazing close ups but good for long distances too. Fabulous price and they arrived in double-quick time as well.
I m not a new comer to Bino s I have four pair and a telescope for birding . Lately I have been looking at thing closer to home like knee height butterfly s bugs flowers etc : When I was shown a set of the Papillio in the field I was so impressed with them I looked around and found them at Microglobe. They are so versatile giving all that a normal pair would give in long distance plus the incredible ability to focus at knee height . Very sharp and a bright clear image at all extremes . For the price here at £79 00 a no brainer I m in the process of buying another pair for the wife
+ lightweight close focusing image is bright and rich in contrast due to effective multicoating
- not very comfortable to hold at least for my hands narrow apparent field of view
Conclusion: excellent compact binocular for the money
Arrived promptly. Bought to replace a pair of version I dropped into a stream. Excellent close focus - ideal for dragonflies.
Great binoculars outstanding optical quality for the price. The close focus gives great views of flowers and insects that you don t associate with binoculars and the 3D effect gives a more satisfying view than with a hand lens.
The only downside is they are very small and can be fiddly for large hands. plus you have to always remember that they are not waterproof but this is clearly stated.
